The Sunday Assembly motto is “Live better, help often, wonder more” and all our events are designed to help people do just that.
They happen once a month, where everyone meets to sing along as the live band plays songs by Johnny Cash, The Beatles, Pink Floyd … the Ghostbusters theme song; to listen as a guest speaker imparts knowledge on topics like the mystery of Mozart, political theory or personal development; to hear someone share a personal story of a struggle or moment of triumph.
Our assemblies are held on the second Sunday of each month at:
SMall grOUPS (see what we did there?) are part social group, part philosophy group, part general “let’s sit around and have a chat over a drink” group, the SMOUPS are all good and non-judgmental fun.
Groups are kept small, usually 7-10 people, who meet once every two weeks for about an hour and an hour and a half, are flexible in nature but have, what some might call a ‘semi-structured’ feel, with a discussion topic or theme decided before hand as well as a facilitator to help guide the conversation along. Mostly it’s just great people hanging out, getting to know each other better so that we can help each other live better lives. It’s a great way to start long lasting connections in our community. Groups meet in member’s home, and are available in multiple areas across Metro Nashville.
Action Heroes Community Service
Sunday Assembly Nashville is committed to making a difference in our community. Once a month we provide a volunteer opportunity to give back as a group. From feeding the hungry to cleaning up our adopted stream, we hope you will join us being an action hero.
Coffee & Donuts
One Saturday a month we meet up for coffee, donuts and conversation. This is a great opportunity to meet new people and get to know them in a safe, judgmental environment.
Information on upcoming SMOUPS and community service opportunities, as well as as our social hangouts can be found on our meetup page at: http://meetup.com/sunday-assembly-nashville
